Overview

The club has two hard surface tennis courts that are available for use by members and their guests year round. Members must fill out a guest form at the front desk when bringing guests to play tennis. (regular guest fees apply).

Sign up Process & Fees

The club pro, Federico Mas, provides instructional clinics at the club for all age groups during June and July. Clinic fees can be paid thru the Membership Store. Fees for tennis instruction are in addition to membership dues and cover all classes offered during June and July. Once you have paid your tennis clinic fees, the club administrator will email you a link to register for clinic sessions. Pre-registration is required for all clinics.

The 2018 Tennis Clinic Fee Schedule is:

Unlimited Clinics – Single Member $75 (plus tax) Covers clinic fees for an individual member for the summer.

Unlimited Clinics – Family Member $125 (plus tax) Covers clinic fees for all family members for the summer (must assign which member is covered at purchase).

Whether you’ve never played tennis before or you are an advanced skill level player, there is lots of tennis fun in store for you at Clinton Hills this summer!

Tennis Coach

Meet our Head Coach
Federico Mas is a  Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified professional/ clinician. He received his Psychology degree at Wright State University where he also played 4 years of Division I tennis. Since moving to Cincinnati in 2003, Federico has led various successful tennis programs and events in the area. He has also received the PTR award for ‘Member of the Year’ as well as the Kentucky Senate Award for excellence for his contributions to tennis in the community.  Federico is also a board member of the Greater Cincinnati Tennis Association. Federico is excited to share his tennis expertise with the members of Clinton Hills Swim Club.

Start 1

  • Week 1 – Court area. Grips. Ball feel. Forehands / Backhands. Basic movement.
  • Week 2 – Forehands, Backhands. Different bounces and speeds of the ball. Rallying.
  • Week 3 – Volleys, overheads.
  • Week 4 – Serves. Rallying. Review of all basic strokes. Match components and scoring.

Start 2

Beginner level continued (advanced beginner). Or, players with some previous experience welcome to join.

  • Week 1 – Groundstrokes. Specific components. Introduction to topspin. Rallying.
  • Week 2 – Approach shots. Playing points at the net.
  • Week 3 – Placement of the ball. Rallying. Start points with serves.
  • Week 4 – Point play with serves, approach shots, introduction to doubles play.

Additional Class Options

Intermediate/Advanced Tennis Class (Levels 3.5 – 5.0)
Drills to practice technique and tactics. Rallying for consistency. Point Play situations and games for singles and doubles strategy. Intensity and running level is Medium to High in this class.

Advanced Beginner Class (levels 2.5-3.0)
Class for individuals who went through at least one session of beginner tennis and have learned the basics of strokes, movement and grips. The class will review grips and technique. Practice for different point situations and matches also covered.
*This class is a good option for those who are not quite experienced enough for the Intermediate/Advanced group but have already learned the basics in a beginner course. Also appropriate for people with experience who have not played in several years and need a refresher course.

Clinton Hills Junior Tennis Programs
Our junior programs are conducted with methods that adhere to USTA guidelines for children in tennis. Our tennis professional, Federico, trains all assistant instructors on these methods, drills and activities to give your children the best tennis experience.
